12-10-06: Boy, has it been a while since I last updated! I took college classes for fall 2006 and that kept me pretty busy! I am now on break and have a little free time to do updates!
As I previously stated in my last update, I took a few birds to the County Fair. I entered an old hen show king, a young cock show king, three young hen utility kings and one young cock utility king. As for results, well, I was pretty amazed! The young cock show king won Grand Champion for his class, and the old hen SK won reserve! One of the young hen UK won grand champion for her group and the young cock UK won reverve!
So I was pretty excited about that!! Here are some pictures:

8-20-06: For everyone waiting for updates to the site, I plan on updating when the weather gets a little cooler. It is still hot here!

8-18-06: Well, yesterday I just lost one of my utlility kings
I had for about eight years and I really do not know his age. He developed an eye tumor and it just went downhill from there. His companion of five years knows something is wrong and she always looks for him. It is quite sad, really.

Boyfriend: ?-2006
7-31-06: New Show King baby!!
7-20-06: I really want to update the utility and show kings and the helmet webpages. I feel they are lacking in information and could use a little more spice! So, stay tuned!
Well, right now the birds are all going through their moult. Since I mainly have white birds, it looks like the ground is covered with snow! It is just a huge poof of white feathers! No matter how much I clean and pick up the feathers it just never works. It never seems like I clean up. Boy, PIGEONS!!
They just about kill me!
7-11-06: Here is the one show king squab (now a squeaker) who was hatched last month. Look how big he is! Sadly, the other suab didn't make it.

6-26-06: I just found this picture of a little parakeet I had adopted a couple of months ago. He had a fractured femur and apparently had other injuries, probably internal. He ate like a pig, but was so emaciated and weak, that he just couldn't hold on any longer. He was such a sweet parakeet and wanted to be just like the other normal parakeets. I had named him Grinchies

6-25-06: I think I will be painting the loft hopefully tomorrow! It is an all day thing and I want to be quick *but* efficient in getting the job done. The birds always get mad at me for placing them in separate cages for most of the day. So, i try to get done as quickly as possible. I have been wanting to paint it for quite some time and I have actually gotten a little done, but I want tomorrow to be the day! Unfortunately, I can only paint one side at the moment because the utility kings are sitting on eggs and I don't want to disturb them. The helmets, on the other hand, haven't been producing babies yet (although they have tried) and so their side can be thoroughly cleaned and painted. I am so excited!! Pictures will be posted as soon as I am finished
6-18-06: Two new show king squabs were hatched on the 15th. One just died early this morning from being stepped on by dad yesterday. I made an effort to save it by bringing it in, cleaning all dirt out of its mouth and off its face, and putting it on a heating pad. Later that night, it did make an improvement, but unfortunately had internal damage.
6-16-06: I just wanted to add a few pictures that I should have added a couple of months ago. The pictures are of a rare snow day we had here in Kingman. It was not very deep, but it did stick for a while. I am not quite sure what my birds thought of it, but they had to atleast enjoyed it a little!

9-9-06: I am excited!! This Thursday is the Mohave County Fair and I plan to enter a few of my birds. I have not shown any of my pigeons for a couple of years now so it will be interesting to see how they do. Wish me and them luck!!

And here is one of my 'spunky' parakeets, Purple Nurple. She is captured here riding her horse!
