Pigeons just love a good bath and they should be given the option at least once a week.

If you plan to keep pigeons, make sure there is enough space to comfortably house everyone. Overcrowding can lead to disease, injury, and stress.

At Fair Skies Loft , we breed and raise a handful of pigeon breeds including MFC Helmets, Utility Kings, and Show Kings.  Most of the breeding is centered around producing  show stock.  Occasionally, birds will be put up for sale due to space limitations and overall population increases. Please check under the 'for sale' section for more information.

The overall goals for the 2006 breeding season:

  1. To improve the breeding conditions
  2. To increase the number and survival rates of squabs
  3. To provide better quality care and overall health of the pigeons

So far this year (2006):

Two Show Kings hatched
Two Racing Homers hatched
Six white Utility Kings hatched

Here is how it all started:

Fair Skies Loft first started out as a little pigeon shack. This Loft DEFINATELY was not attractive and barely stood up by itself, but the pigeons loved it! It was their first home. In the mean time, I wanted a bigger, better loft not only to hold more birds, but to look decent! Don't get me wrong, I built the first one myself at the age of about 15  and had no personal experience building stuff whatsoever. It was pretty good considering the materials I had available.
Anyway, I contacted my neighbor who also raises pigeons and also built his own lofts (which, by the way, are great) and he agreed to build mine for FREE! Boy, was I excited. The construction took a couple of months to complete, but in the end it turned out great. Now, atleast, I have something to be proud of. Not only that, but my birds love it also.
I was a little  when the new loft was going to be built because  the old shack  was my first and contained so many memories of pigeons I loved and lost. However, the new loft is actually built onto the back portion of the old loft, so it is still there when I need it.
Here are some photos of my old loft below. The new construction is found above.

Just an amazing sight, isn't it?
